1. What kind of Church do you want to be a member? What kind of Church do you want your Church to be? A man was answering questions for a national poll and was asked what his church preference was. He answered, "Red brick." I am not talking about a particular kind of building. I am talking about the Church that meets in a building.
2. I think all of us want to be a part of a great Church. As for me, I want Temple Baptist Church to be a great Church. I believe that each of you who are members of this Church, likewise, want our Church to be a great Church. We have a good Church, but we don't want to settle for just being good. We want to have a great Church.
3. Bo Bennett said, "Every day, people settle for less than they deserve. They are only partially living or at best living a partial life." I like that quote for it is so true. So many Churches are settling for less than they can have or do. They are partially living or living a partial life.
4. The great coach, Vince Lombardi said, "If you'll not settle for anything less than your best, you will be amazed at what you can do accomplish in your lives." If this Church would not settle for less than the best, we would be amazed at what we could see happen in this place.
5. We have had a great past, but I believe we can have a greater future. Our best days do not have to be behind us. They can be in front of us. We can turn what is good into great. Sad will be the day when we cease to strive for greatness and settle for just being good. The great missionary Wil ...
