Resurrection Power For Your Marriage (1 of 4)
Family First

Today's message will be a little bit different than most of the Easter messages that you hear. And that is done on purpose because I am beginning a brand new series of messages called "Family First". We are going to be talking about the priority of the family. And we are going to begin with the resurrection of Jesus Christ, what we celebrate this very day on Easter.

It is from Ephesians 1:19-20. When Paul writes about the resurrection in this case, he is not writing about the historical facts of the resurrection, but rather he is writing about the tremendous effect that the resurrection of Christ should have in our daily lives. In other words, what difference does resurrection mean to me? What difference does it make in my daily life that Jesus is alive, that Jesus rose from the dead? How does it really apply to my life? How would it apply to my home? How would it apply to my relationships?

Ephesians 1:19-20 (NIV) "and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,"
When he talks about resurrection power, he is saying that believers have resurrection power residing in them because Christ resides in them. And the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, that we celebrate today, is available to us in every part of our life including our family life.

Now today as we look at this message called "Resurrection Power for Your Marriage", it is really not an inappropriate message because there are a lot of marriages that are dead and need resurrection, amen? So we are going to talk about resurrection power for your marriage. Whether your marriage is dead or whether it is dying or whether it just needs a little shot in the arm, this message will be helpful for you and for me.
