Have you ever wondered just How do you know that you're really filled with the spirit?
Does God give us a sure fire way to know for sure?
Yes...He does...
First, you and I need to accept the promises of God as truth, just as they are. Obviously that also means we need to know what His Promises are...which means we've got to read our bibles.
As we do, we'll find out that God does not lie. If He promises something in His word, He delivers
1 John 5:14-15 says, 1 John 5:14-15 (NIV)
14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
Obviously there's a definite faith issue involved...
But if you've repented of your sins and you've turned to God, and asked believing, in other words, if you've asked in faith, that Jesus Christ to come into your life and be Savior and Lord, and if you've faithfully yielded your will to the Will of God, then not only were you saved, but God has filled you with His Holy Spirit.
Going along with this, too, is that you will experience His filling...or, put another way, you'll experience the Power of the Holy Spirit at work in your life...you'll be ‘experiencing God'
In other words, what I'm talking about isn't some sort of a ‘mind thing'...it's not seminary or academic knowledge...it is real...it is something you'll also KNOW and it's something that you'll be EXPERIENCING.
Part of that real ‘experience' as a Christian, is having a greater and growing faith in God;
it's having a renewed and sensed calmness in your spirit...which means, you'll have a calmness when you're facing uncertainties, when you're making decisions, when you're calling upon God to help out in a situation;
In addition you'll have a ‘sensed power' that you know is not that of your ...
