Now as you are turning to 1 Peter 3, let me remind you that this five chapter book is all about hope! And not a hope-so hope, but a know-so hope! A hope that you can count on! A hope that you can bank on!

And if anybody needed a word of hope it was those to whom Peter was writing. Having experienced persecution and now scattered in a foreign land, God gave them, through Peter, just the right word to encourage and enable them to press on in spite of the persecution.

Chapter by chapter he tells them to 'BE HOPEFUL.'' And I want to say to you ''Be hopeful.'' Where there is Jesus, there is hope! Hope in the here and now and hope in the hear after! ''Our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness.''

Having just spoke about having a Citizenship that Counts ...beginning in 2.18 he turns our attention to the subject of submission. 2.18, ''Servants, be submissive to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the harsh.'' And with the subject of submission on the table, he heads straight to the core of our society: marriage!

And speaking of marriage, this coming weekend we are having a Marriage Celebration for every couple. I thank God for Jerry and Ginger Anderson who are investing their lives into the lives of couples, to help strengthen their marriages. And that's what this coming weekend is all about: strengthening our marriages. And I hope you will plan to be a part of this marriage celebration weekend.
