I want to thank you for including Sunday night worship as a part of your celebration of the Lord's Day. I believe what we do on Sunday nights helps build up the body of Christ ... strengthen the fellowship and provides us another opportunity to worship our savior and to declare the good news of Jesus Christ.

I enjoy fellowshipping with you on Sunday nights. I enjoy worshipping with you on Sunday nights. I enjoy the variety of music that Joe Buckner leads us in each Sunday night ... and of course .. I enjoy the wonderful Bible preaching on Sunday nights.

And speaking of wonderful Bible preaching on Sunday nights ... Dr. Jerry Vines is going to be preaching for us every Sunday night in November! A month long Sunday night Bible Conference with Jerry Vines! It doesn't get much better than that!

Now that he has retired from pastoring the FBC in Jacksonville, Florida ... he is preaching around the country and we are going to be blessed by his preaching. I know that you will want to first clear your Sunday night calendar so that you will be here .. but also to help us get word out and to invite everyone to join us.

Now before my time is spent ... look with me for a few minutes to the book of 1st Peter as we continue our study under the heading: Yes .. There is Hope!

Now as we come to chapter 2.11 .. having explained the living hope which is ours in Christ .. and having explained that we now have an incorruptible inheritance that does not fade .. and having explained that we are born to grow and how to discover if indeed we are growing .. Peter now turns the focus on our citizenship on earth.

Now remember who he was writing too! He was writing to scattered saints that we're living under the threat of persecution. And what they needed to know was that there was hope! And so over and over Peter tells them: Yes .. there is hope!
