ILLUSTRATION: Let me begin this evening by sharing a brief illustration given by Jim Rohn.
Over the years I've been teaching children about a simple but powerful concept - the ant philosophy. I think everybody should study ants. They have an amazing philosophy, they never quit. That's a good philosophy. If they're headed somewhere and you try to stop them, they'll look for another way. They'll climb over, they'll climb under, and they'll climb around. They keep looking for another way. What a neat philosophy, to never quit looking for a way to get where you're supposed to go. INTRODUCTION:
1. Let me borrow the last sentence for a moment: "never quit looking for a way to get where you're supposed to go."
2. When we speak of "getting over the hump," we understand that term as a euphemism for, "getting around an obstacle," "overcoming a difficulty," "achieving something in life," "being able to handle a problem—or, circumventing a problem."
3. Possibly I am speaking to some folks this evening who are trying to get over the hump. You are looking for a career change; you are having difficulty with a habit in your life, maybe you are struggling with certain emotions—with people or circumstances.
a. For you, getting over the hump may have to do with your need to make some serious spiritual decisions: You're trying to find God's will for your life, or possibly, you need to rededicate your life to the Lord? Whatever it may be...to you, it is "getting over the hump."
4. Do you know what I think? I think we would do
