The Book of Genesis has all the major doctrines. The key to the Bible is hung on the front door. The key to the Bible is Genesis 1:1, just the first phrase of that verse, "In the beginning, God." The way to understand the Bible as God's revealed Word is to understand the significance of "In the beginning, God." Before anything was created, there was God, everlasting to everlasting.

I want us to look at Genesis, verses one through five. We are going to talk about "Back To The Future, The Origin And Destiny Of Man." If you are right about the origin of man than you can be led to the destiny of man.

(1)"In the Beginning, God created the heavens and the earth and (2)The earth was formless and void and darkness was over the surface of the deep and the spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters."

Then the Bible says that (3)"God said, ‘Let there be light and there was light (4)and God saw that the light was good and God separated the light from the darkness (5)and God called the light day and the darkness He called night and there was morning one day."

Now, we are going to look at this word "day" tonight. We are going to talk about the meaning of the days and the miracle of the days of creation. I want to tell you that when people interpret the book of Genesis of when people seek to know the origin of the earth, if they are oriented to the Bible at all, they try to reconcile the book of Genesis with science. They immediately move into the problem when they read the creation story and of course we know that in six days, God created the earth. In fact, we read as we go down through the book of Genesis again and again, each day it says that there was evening and there was morning and that was the third day, the fourth day, the fifth day and so on. The Bible tells us that God created the earth in six days.
