George Mueller began all kinds of orphanages in Bristol, England. He supported the work of thee orphanages and countless orphanages without every asking for a donation from anyone. He would pray for God's provision, and God used him for years to support works that required in contemporary terms, million and millions of dollars and he would see it come in every year.

In our society, we seem to have an intense interest in power. There are power engines, power tools, power nozzles, power locks, power boats, power lunches, power plays, power walks power steering and power brakes.

There is horse power, electrical power, hydraulic power, political power, economic power, mental power, and psychological power, power of persuasion, power of influence, economic power and mental power.

But there is a power today that we haven't really begun to explore. And that is the power of Spirit.

But the kind of power I want to speak about is Spirit power.

This power outranks all other powers in importance. If we would learn how to pray in the Spirit it would be amazing how our lives would change. In verse 26 Paul says, Romans 8:26

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

"He helpeth." Paul is actually saying that the Spirit comes to our aid by taking hold of our load and helping us to carry it.

Now he does not remove the load of suffering and sorrow, but rather lends a helping hand. We need this because of the infirmities (asteneia), lack of strength. But when we pray in the spirit the Spirit knows the things that are for God's glory and for our good.
