Romans 12:1-6
INTRO:
(A) Series .... BACK TO BASICS .... of spiritual growth --What happens right after salvation.
....Looking together at the 6 elements involved in spiritual growth -- the 6 basic building blocks of the Christian life.
....You never grow beyond these 6 elements .... you grow in them ....
.... Today we see the last element -- Thus far, we've seen:
1- YOUR WORSHIP .... the moment you are saved, God creates within you a thirst to glorify Him .... to repeatedly experience His presence ....
.... Acting on that thirst .... by worshiping God .... starts you growing spiritually.
.... It also compels you to move into the 2nd element of your spiritual growth:
2- YOUR WITNESS .... Genuine worship will compel you to tell others about Jesus.
... As you witness to others .... you are the servant carrying the Master's invitation to those who need salvation.
.... That brings us to the 3rd element of your spiritual growth.
3- YOUR WALK .... The moment you are saved ....God also creates within you a desire to obey Him ... You do that by:
.... Identifying with Jesus publicly ....Following Jesus in baptism.
.... Learning His Word and applying it daily to your life.
.... Spending time in prayer
.... Then you come to the 4th element of your spiritual growth:
4- YOUR WEALTH .... God calls you to demonstrate your trust in Him by being faithful to give Him 1/10th of your income through his church.
-- That brings us to the 5th element of your spiritual growth:
5- YOUR WARFARE .... The moment you are saved, you acquire an enemy named Satan who wants to destroy your influence for God's kingdom and your effectiveness in touching others.
.... The only way to defeat this enemy is by putting on the armor of God and praying .... Prayer is the War.
-- That brings us to the 6th and final element of ...
