INTRO:
(A) Series .... BACK TO BASICS .... of spiritual growth --What happens right after salvation.
1- Looking together at the 6 elements involved in spiritual growth -- the 6 basic building blocks of the Christian life.
....You never grow beyond these 6 elements .... you grow in them .... Thus far, we've seen:
a- YOUR WORSHIP .... the moment you are saved, God creates within you a thirst to glorify Him .... to repeatedly experience His presence ....
.... Acting on that thirst .... by worshiping God .... starts you growing spiritually.
.... It also compels you to move into the 2nd element of your spiritual growth: b- YOUR WITNESS .... Genuine worship will compel you to tell others about Jesus.
.... As you witness to others .... you are the servant obeying your Master .... carrying His invitation to those who need salvation.
.... The invitation to come experience His presence.
.... That brings us to the 3rd element of your spiritual growth.
c- YOUR WALK .... The moment you are saved .... not only does God create a thirst within you to worship Him, but He also creates within you a desire to obey Him.
.... OBEDIENCE is the key that governs your walk with the Lord.
.... You obey God by identifying with Jesus publicly .... then by following Jesus in baptism .... by learning His Word and applying it daily to your life.
.... Finally -- you obey God by spending time with Him in prayer, by communicating with Him.
(B) The Bible has a great deal to say about finances:
1- Jesus told 38 parables .... 16 of them dealt with our relationship with material things!
2- 500 verses on faith in the Bible!
3- 500 verses on prayer in the Bible!
4- 2,000 verses on our relationship with material things!
(C) God is interested in your finances .... but not so that He can get them for Himself .... He doesn't need your f ...
