INTRO:
(A) Series ...... God’s Perfect 10 ... the 10 Commandments ...
... The Tenth Commandment ... God's blueprint for a healthy life ...living in His Zone!
... Life ... like this shopping cart full of grocery items... we accumulate many things and relationships throughout our lives.
* Problem today ... you can't read the price ... a guessing game ... everything has bar codes.
... Shocked at prices.
... You can't tell the price ... You need a UPC (United Product Code) scanner.
... We use the scanner to tell us the price of something... its value.
... The Bible tells us what is and is not valuable in life ... Tells us the price of what we desire.
* ...Exodus 20:17...“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”
Message: "Don’t set your heart on anything that is your neighbors."
... I.E. "Don't waste time desiring something you don't have."
... Don't covet.
(B) This Commandment ties all the other Commandments together God has given us.
1- It's the rope that binds all the Commandments together ... because this commandment warns us about desire ... wanting something we don't have.
* This commandment ... God's scanner we can apply to our lives ... to keep us from paying the wrong price with our lives ... You don't want to sell yourself short ... to let your life go at a cheap price.
-- There are 3 questions we must ask to keep from paying the wrong price with our lives:
... The sooner you ask yourself these questions, the less likely you are to sell your life too cheaply.
1- WHAT DO I WANT? I Tim. 6:17-19
... A Progression we follow to live out our desire.
