Isaiah 11:6-9

People often wonder if there'll be animals in Heaven and their second question is, will they see their pets in Heaven? To some people, this issue is unimportant, but to others it is something they would really like to know.

Children, especially, wonder if they will ever see their pets again. Scripture says a great deal about animals, portraying them as Earth's second most important inhabitants.

Isaiah, the prophet, speaks of a coming glorious era on Earth when "the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the yearling together; and a little child shall lead them."

I. WILL ANIMALS INHABIT THE NEW EARTH?
A. Isaiah Anticipates An Eternal Kingdom With Animals
Isaiah 65:17 – "For I will create a new heaven and a new earth; the past events will not be remembered or come to mind."

Isaiah 66:22 – "For just as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, will endure before Me"--the LORD's declaration--"so will your offspring and your name endure."

Speaking of the eternal kingdom, Isaiah says, "The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox...they will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, says the Lord." (Isaiah 65:25)

These events will not take place on the Old Earth or even the Millennium which will end in rebellion and warfare, but on the New Earth, where there will be no more sin, death or suffering.

Revelation 21:24 – "The nations will walk in its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it."

These descriptions of animals peacefully inhabiting the earth may have application to a millennial kingdom on the Old Earth, but there primary reference appears to be to God's Eternal Kingdom where mankind and animals will enjoy a redeemed earth.
