Many books on Heaven maintain that those in Heaven cannot be aware of people and events on Earth because they would be made unhappy by the suffering and evil; thus Heaven would not truly be Heaven.

However, God certainly knows what is going on down on Earth and it in no way diminishes Heaven for Him. Likewise, the Angels in Heaven know what's happening on Earth and yet it does not stop them from praising and glorifying God. In fact, the angels also see what's happening on earth and even see what's happening in hell and it doesn't negate the joy of Heaven for them.

I believe that believers in Heaven also are aware of at least some of what is happening on Earth, but in Heaven they see things from a divine perspective. Looking at things from God's viewpoint will change the way we react to things happening on Earth.

I. THE DESIRE FOR PARADISE REGAINED

Being aware of events on Earth will heighten the desire of God's people in Heaven to see Christ return in glory, set up His kingdom on earth, and eventually bring about the New Earth that is promised in Revelation, chapters twenty-one and twenty-two.

Revelation 6:10 (CSV) – They cried out with a loud voice: "O Lord, holy and true, how long until You judge and avenge our blood from those who live on the earth?"

The Bible tells us that those in Heaven are aware of certain things on Earth. In the story of the rich man and Lazarus, Abraham and Lazarus saw the rich man's agonies in hell, but it didn't cause Paradise to be Paradise for them.

Nothing that Heaven's dwellers can see on Earth will spoil Heaven for them.
