Luke 16:10-12
INTRO: I want you to take God's Word now this morning and be finding your place at Luke chapter 16 if you will. We are in a simple series of sermons on stewardship that we have entitled, "It All Belongs To Him." And what we are looking at here during the month of January is our role as stewards. The bible says in 1st Corinthians 4, "Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful." Peter wrote in his first letter that we are to be "good stewards of the manifold grace of God." And so, I want to share with you and show you how to be a good steward. You see, as we're going to discover this morning, just because you're a steward doesn't mean you're a good steward.
Now, if you were here last week you'll remember that we began this series by looking at the steward's reception. Psalm 24:1, "The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein." So, the bible teaches that everything that we have and everything that we hold belongs to the Lord. Why? He created it and He controls it. But not only does the planet and it's produce belong to the Lord. Its people do to. The steward is simple the servant of the master. So, this morning, as we continue, I want us to look at the steward's responsibility. How is the steward supposed to manage the master's assets.
I don't know about you, but I love one liners. There's something about the wit and wisdom of one liners that just really lights my fire. I was going over some one liners and practical proverbs from around the world this pass week that were really interesting. For example.
