Capturing a City for Christ

Joshua 5:10-6:20
INTRO: Well, I want you to take your bibles now tonight, and I want you to go ahead and be finding your place at Joshua chapter five if you will. Joshua chapter five, beginning in verse number 10, and I want to talk to you for a few minutes here tonight about, "Capturing A City For Christ." Capturing A City For Christ.
ILLUS: I heard about two cowboys who were out on "the range" when suddenly they realized that they were surrounded by hundreds of blood-thirsty Indians. One cowboy looked at the other one and said, "They've got us surrounded! Don't let a one of them get away."
Well, I want you to know, that if we are going to have the impact upon this city that God would have us to have, we're going to have to have that kind of attitude. Yes, they may have us surrounded, there at work, there in the neighborhood, at the grocery store or at the gas station, but don't let a one of them get away!
Well, as many of you already know, we are in the process of planting a new church, the North Metro Church, A Southern Baptist Fellowship, in Southern Delaware County. And we've been praying and planting and planning and we really believe that the Lord is going to do great things in and through this new church. Some of you are already committed to this call and cause of Christ. Some of you are praying about the possibility of coming and helping us to really capture that part of the city for Christ. Some of you haven't thought much about it, but wherever you may be tonight, I want you to listen to this message and I really want you to pray about where the Lord would have you to go and what He would have you to do as we think about and talk about, "Capturing A City For Christ."
Now, you're there in Joshua chapter five, so I want us to pick up with verse 10 to kinda get a running start down into chapter 6. Look at what the bible says. . .
