Isaiah 65-66

Tim LaHaye, the author of the series of books called "Left Behind," which has sold millions and millions of copies, told me some months ago that the final volume was going to have as its theme "Jesus Wins." They didn't title the final volume that. They titled it "The Glorious Appearing." He came to the conclusion of that "Left Behind" series on a positive note. There are 66 chapters in Isaiah. There are 66 books in our Bible. The first 39 chapters are chapters that have to do primarily with condemnation, chapters of judgment corresponding to the Old Testament. The last 27 chapters of Isaiah are chapters of consolation or salvation, corresponding to our New Testament, which sets forth the glorious gospel of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. There are similarities between the construction of the book of Isaiah and the way your whole Bible is put together.

Then when you come to the conclusion of Isaiah, here in chapter 65, verse 17 it says, "For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth." You can see the similarities in the construction and in the subject matter of the two.
In chapters 40 through 66 the emphasis is on God. In the first part of that section, th ...
