* In the 1961 comedy, "The Absent-Minded Professor," a chemistry professor is so engrossed in his work that he misses his own wedding--3 times. Most people remember the movie for something other than the professor's romantic woes. Most remember it for his great invention called 'flubber,' the super-rubber that leads the basketball team to victory when placed on their shoes. The movie, however, is a great reminder that even "great" intellects can sometimes make a mess of their own personal lives, when left to themselves.
* We live in a day that is consumed with knowledge. We are traveling faster, going flying higher and going farther than any generation in history. Yet, the knowledge explosion does not necessarily translate into man being wiser. A person can have a PhD from Harvard or Yale and not be wise (in fact, listening to many radio and TV talk shows proves that.)
* A person can be a reknown expert in their field and not be wise. Wisdom is not knowledge. Wisdom is not education. Wisdom is not possession information.
* Let me give you an example. Most are familiar with the name Albert Einstein. He is considered one of the greatest intellects this world has ever known. In fact, when he died his brain was removed from his body and dissected in search of learning why some people are intellectually superior. There is no question that Einstein was a brilliant man, but I am not so sure that he was very wise.
