Today we are looking at our fourth lesson on "The Glorious Appearing". And we are looking at Part II of the question the disciples asked of Jesus in Matthew 24:3 and that is "When Shall These Things Be?" You recall that they asked Jesus three questions as Jesus was on the Mount of Olives on the week of His Passion. Just before His death they came to Jesus as He had been talking about the end times and about the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem. And about the end times for Israel and the Kingdom of God that would come upon the earth. And they said, "When shall these things be? What shall be the sign of thy coming and of the end of the age?'

Actually the first question was what shall be the sign of thy coming and of the end of the age and when shall these things be? And we have been looking at the answer to when shall these things be.

Matthew 24:3 (NIV) "As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"

I. THE PERIOD FOR HIS APPEARING

We have looked at what will be the sign of your coming. Jesus gave several signs. And He said when all these things begin to come to pass in one generation simultaneously, this will be the end, this will be the sign of the end. And He mentioned particularly the sign of the Son of Man appearing in the sky, that is the Son of Man Himself appearing in the sky.

And He also was talking about the end of the age. Now what does the end of the age mean? Well, it means the end of the church age and we will be talking about that today as well.
