One of Calvin Miller's books is The Singer, The Song, and The Finale. These three little novels have been around for many years ago and has been a source of inspiration because of the way Miller depicted Jesus, the Son of God, as a SINGER, Who came from heaven to share the truth of God's love with all mankind--in SONG form.

Well, Miller's work of fiction isn't that far from the truth because the Bible is full of songs inspired by God's interaction with mankind.
For example: in Deuteronomy 31 God led Moses to teach the people of Israel a song to help them remember all that God had done for them in freeing them from Egyptian bondage.

In Judges 5 Deborah and her general, Barak, sang a similar song recounting God's workings for His people. And, of course, King David is known not only for his valor in battle but also for the songs of praise he composed and recorded in the book of Psalms.

And then Zephaniah 3:17 tells us that God Himself sings. This minor prophet writes: ''The Lord is with you. He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you. He will quiet you with His love. HE WILL REJOICE OVER YOU WITH SINGING!''

I read the story about a church, which discovered the figure representing the Holy Child missing from its nativity scene.

The pastor looked about, but he found nothing. He called it to the attention of the custodian and secretary, but they could offer no explanation. At the Christmas worship services he reported to the congregation the grave loss. As he spoke the thought of the sacrilege made his voice tremble with obvious outrage. ''The Christ Child must be returned,'' he declared.

That afternoon the agitated pastor walked the wintry streets of his parish with a very heavy heart. He saw ahead Johnny Mullaney, one of the little members of his flock. Although he was shabbily dress, Johnny was proudly pulling a bright red wagon.

It was obviously Christmas new ...
