The Other Side of Godliness
David Cawston
James 1:27

Introduction:
God has been speaking to me about our tangible caring and how important it is!

He has been driving home the point that faith is so much more than words, it is doing!

James 2:14-18
14 What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him?
15 Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food.
16 If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?
17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
18 But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. (NIV)

In fact it is the real evidence of transformation!

John the Beloved wrote in I John 4:20-21
20 If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also. (NKJ)

There is no room for the words in our Christian Life "I don't care!"
God has called us to care!
To care enough to do something about what we see!

It is through our caring that we build relationships to minister.

Recently I was in the inner city in Philadelphia with Bill Donnelly Sr.
You know I have a burden for the inner city!
I have been praying for the last three years that God would give us the key to that city.
Bill Donnelly is director of a transitional housing facility called "Trevor's place"
Government funded program to care for the homeless women and childr ...
