Embracing our personal cross is not easy. Embracing your cross is to embrace a life style Christianity. Everyday we must rise from our beds and choose to follow Jesus. We choose to live for Jesus and to have an honest relationship with our God. It seems that the Christian world has painted many wonderful depictions of Christ but there was nothing easy about the narrow road He had to walk. To hug, hold, or embrace His cross He knew He would encounter religious spirited leaders the very people He wanted to reach. Let us look into His Anointed Word and study Jesus' action when He encountered the religious prideful leaders of the church or synagogue.
Now it happened on another Sabbath, also, that He entered the synagogue and taught. And a man was there whose right hand was withered. So the scribes and Pharisees watched Him closely, whether He would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against Him. But He knew their thoughts, and said to the man who had the withered hand, "Arise and stand here." And he arose and stood. Then Jesus said to them, "I will ask you one thing: Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy?" And when He had looked around at them all, He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he did so, and his hand was restored as whole as the other. But they were filled with rage, and discussed with one another what they might do to Jesus. (Luke 6:6-11)
Did you notice that Jesus was in the local church and He was teaching? However, the religious prideful people entered with a negative spirit to find fault.
Now that sounds like many churches today. People come wanting to find fault with the local preachers or music directors or just about anyone.
