God's Desire Is Toward You

Luke 1:28-38
How can I really know God's desire is towards me?
1. His Word declares it!
30 But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.
You can put your own name in there!
A. He has made an outright commitment!
Isa 41:10
10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. NIV
B. He has renewed it with promises!
Zech 2:8
for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye- NIV
Jer 29:10-14
11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you," declares the LORD, NIV
34 "How will this be," Mary asked the angel?
We all have difficulty believing God's commitment towards us when we hear it.
We believe that He is so removed and some how He couldn't possibly know us let alone desire to do something great for us!
Religion has unfortunately taught us that we have to earn God's favor.
Keep the rules!
Be a good person!
Be a special person!
But none of this is true.
Rom 2:11
11 For God does not show favoritism. NIV
2. His Presence Confirms it!
35 The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.
John 14:16-18
16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever-
