It is amazing to me how important packaging seems to be in our culture.
If it is beautiful package then it must have beautiful contents.
This shows us the surface ness of our culture.

We are sold that bill of goods from every marketer in our culture.
When Fred Astaire was trying to break into show business in 1932, a Hollywood talent agent who didn't think he would fit the image wrote this note on his screen test: "Can't act. Can't sing. Can dance a little." It is easy to make quick - and faulty - judgments about persons and situations. It usually pays to take the time to get it right.
We are so much harder on everybody else that we are on ourselves.
A man was having much difficulty communicating with his wife and grew very frustrated and critical. He concluded that she must becoming hard of hearing, so he decided to conduct a test without her knowing about it. One evening he sat in a chair on the far side of the room. Her back was to him and she could not see him. Very quietly he whispered, "Can you hear me?" There was no response. Moving a little closer, he asked again, "Can you hear me now?" Still no reply. Quietly he edged closer and whispered the same words, but for the third time there was no answer. Finally, he moved right in behind her chair and said, "Can you hear me now?" To his surprise and chagrin she responded with irritation in her voice, "For the fourth time, yes!"
We need to be patient with others and look beyond the outside of their lives.
A professor at the UCLA Medical School asked his students this question: "Here is the family history: The father has syphilis. The mother has TB. They already have had four children. The first is blind. The second had died. The third is deaf. The fourth has TB. The mother is pregnant. The parents are willing to have an abortion if you decide they should. What do you think?" ...
