Genesis 50:15-20
Take your Bible and turn to Genesis 50:15. This is the last in our series of messages on "Breaking The Lies That Bind." We have looked at many of Satan's lies in these messages and how they bind us and keep us from being all that we can be. And how they place us in prisons of fear, prisons of doubt, prisons of discouragement and depression, and today we are going to look at this lie that I am sure you have been told by the devil. And it is this, when everything in my life is going wrong, it must mean that I am out of God's will. You look at your life and it seems that so many things are not going right. Maybe you lost your job, maybe you just learned of an illness that you had, a health problem, maybe your spouse just left you, or maybe in your life you have lost a girlfriend or boyfriend. There are so many things that happen to us in our life that seem to be wrong. You have those days when everything seems to go wrong. You can have those years when everything seems to go wrong.
And when that happens one of the first things we seem to ask is what am I doing wrong? Everything is going wrong so I must be displeasing to God. I must have angered God. God must be punishing me. But so many times that is just a lie from Satan to discourage you. It is a lie from Satan to mislead you because the next thought is well; I thought I was serving God. I thought I was doing everything the best way I knew how and everything in my life has just turned upside down, so why even try? And you get discouraged and you give up. And some people give up on their faith in the Lord.
