Luke 17:1-5


1. To me, the opening verses of Luke 17 are some of the profound in scripture. In Luke 15, we find the parable of the lost sheep, the lost silver and the lost son. It is 1 parable in 3 pictures, depticting God's view of salvation. In Luke 16, we read of the rich man and Lazarus. In Luke 18, we discover an interesting parable, Jesus told, regarding prayer.

2. Luke 17 gives us the secret to supernatural living. If the principles and precepts of this passage of scripture were put into practice, there would be less Christians suffering from doubt, defeat, discouragement and depression.

1. A FACT Most AMAZING!


1. {Notice verse 1.} There is an amazing fact portrayed in this verse. We find that there is something that Jesus says He will not stop, or keep from taking place.

{C. p. Mark 10: 27.}
"With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible."

{C. p. Luke 1: 37.}
"For with God nothing shall be impossible."

2. The same God who can do anything, un-do anything; stop anything, or change anything, says that this is one thing that He will not un-do, stop or change. Offenses are going to be a part of life. We are going to be belittled and betrayed, disappointed and discouraged, conned and cheated.

2. A FORGIVENESS Most ASTOUNDING!


1. We come to the heart of the matter of this passage. Jesus is emphasizing the importance, and necessity of forgiveness in the life of a Christian. It is the secret to supernatural living.

2. Unforgiveness, or bitterness is vented either Man-ward, or God-ward. However, the Bible teaches us that we have no right, or reason to be bitter against God; and, here, Jesus says that we have no right to be bitter against our fellow man. WE ARE TO FORGIVE!! ...
