GOD'S SPECIAL BOOK OF BLESSING continues as we turn to Revelation 21! Last Sunday in chapter 20 we learned about the Great White Throne Judgment of God. That judgment will take place at the end of the 1000 year reign of Christ upon this earth.
But when you come to chapter 21, All Things Become New! There will be a new heaven above us, a new earth below us, a new city around us, a new body upon us, a new life within us, and an eternity before us!
Now pardon me for shouting, but Hallelujah!! John writes in verse 5, "Then He who sat on the throne said, 'Behold, I make all things new.'"
And that includes a new heaven above us and a new earth below us. I am telling you that there is a glorious future awaiting every born-again child of God and most of us have death is the gateway!
Now most people don't like talking about death, though everybody thinks about it. It's like that astronaut who was being interviewed by a reporter just moments before he was to blast off to the moon.
The reporter asked, "Now tell me, do you have any grave doubts about your success?" The astronaut said, "Please don't use the word 'grave.'"
"Oh, I'm sorry" said the reporter. "Then tell me, what do you think you'll feel when you leave earth and pass on into space?" "Please sir", said the astronaut, "Please don't use the words 'pass on.'"
"Oh, I'm sorry," said the reporter. "I have one last question: do you have any fear about this undertaking?" He said, "do you have to use the word 'undertaking?'"
There is no avoiding it. One of these days you are going to be ushered into eternity. And once you turn from your sin and invite Jesus Christ into your heart to forgive and save you, you don't have to sweat the trip!
