Series: Journey in Faith

Hebrews 11:23; Exodus 2

As our Journey in Faith continues ... we find ourselves in Hebrews 11: God's Hall of Faith! And those who were inducted ... were men and women who pleased God! And there is only one way to please God and that is by faith!
Hebrews 11:6, "But without faith it is impossible to please him ..."
Now since it takes faith to please God ... we better know what faith is! So ...what is faith! What is God-pleasing ... God-honoring faith?
Well ... let me tell you what faith isn't. Faith is not blind optimism or a manufactured hope-so feeling. Nor is faith believing in spite of the evidence.
Faith ... the kind of faith that pleases God is obedience to God's word and God's revealed will regardless of the obstacles and odds! God-pleasing faith is obedience to God's word and God's revealed will regardless of the challenge ... regardless of the challenge ... regardless of the circumstances ... regardless of the consequences! That's Bible faith!
Now so far in our Journey in Faith series of messages ... we've learned that what made it possible for Enoch to walk with God was his faith! Because Enoch agreed with God about His son and his sin ... He walked with God and the Bible says that Enoch pleased God!
Let me ask you a question: don't you want to be a part of a God-pleasing church? I mean a church that pleases God! There is something special about a church that lives to please God!
Somebody says, "Pastor, is it possible for RSBC to be a God-pleasing church?" It is as you become a God-pleasing member! You say, "What does that mean?" Well ... it means that the church is nothing more than the sum total of the membership!
Roswell Street Baptist Church will be a God-pleasing church when the membership becomes a God-pleasing people. And the way we become a God-pleasing people is by our F A I T H!
