The Holy Spirit – In You

First Thessalonians 5:19
If you have your Bibles, turn with me to First Thessalonians 5:19, and we are going to study today the Holy Spirit IN YOU. We have been thinking now about one of the most important things in a person's life, and that is man's relationship to the Holy Spirit of God, Whom God has poured out from on high.
At Pentecost, God poured out the Holy Spirit upon the Church.
Today, when you are born of the Spirit of God He comes into your heart. Except a man be born of God's Spirit, he cannot see the kingdom of God and he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That is the reason multitudes of people cannot see God's kingdom and God's way. They are incapable. They are blinded to the truth of God's kingdom because they have not been born of the Spirit. They have not permitted the SPIRIT of God to give them that BIRTH into the kingdom of God that will make the kingdom of God REAL to them. They cannot SEE the kingdom of God, much less enter INTO it. They must be born again. The way to be born again is to RECEIVE THE LORD JESUS AS OUR SAVIOUR. By receiving Christ, we receive the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God gives us the very Nature of God. The Nature of God, obviously, sees the kingdom of God. And so the things of God BECOME REAL when we are born of the Spirit of God.
Now people are asking the question today (and it is important that we come to this question), "What do you mean by THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD?" Today there seems to be a conspiracy against TALKING about the WORK of God's Holy Spirit. And yet, there is nothing more vital in our lives than that. God says, "QUENCH NOT the Holy Spirit." If you are not a saved person, if you are not a CHRISTIAN, then the Holy Spirit is the only One Who can give you the New Birth. If you ARE a Christian, you can QUENCH God's Holy Spirit by neglecting Him, neglecting to know the truth about Him as found in the Bible, and by neglecting to be obedient unto His le ...
