Once Saved Always Safe

Romans 8:35-39
I invite you to take your Bibles and turn to Romans 8:35. One of the greatest chapters in all the word of God, the riches of Romans is found in chapter 8. And I want to continue a message that will be along the line with the messages of "Look and Live." And I want to speak today on "Once Saved Always Safe." And I want to begin here in Romans 8 and we will be going to several different parts of the word of God. The apostle Paul is asking a question, and then he makes an affirmation. Here is the question.
Now I want to pose a question, is there anything better than knowing that Jesus is in your heart, you have been born again, the Holy Spirit lives within, you are saved, you are a child of God? Is there anything better than knowing that? Just one thing better and that is knowing that you are saved, you are born again, Jesus lives in your heart, and that you can never loose it no matter what. That is the one thing better. And that is exactly what the word of God teaches. The Bible teaches that once a person has truly been born again, once they have repented of their sin, made that commitment of their life where they put all of their faith, their trust in Jesus Christ for eternity, once they have been born into the family of God they can never be unborn no more than a person can be unborn physically once they have had physical birth. That is the teaching of the word of God.
I am not saying that every church member is saved. I am not saying that every church member is eternally secure. I am not just talking about people who walk down an aisle, who made a decision, who followed the Lord in baptism, who filled out a card are saved. There are many people who profess salvation who do not possess salvation. I am not saying that all the people who have joined a church are saved. As a matter of fact, I know that when I say once saved always safe, there are those of you ...
