The Faithfulness of God to His Word

Isaiah 55
Isaiah 55 is one of the great chapters of the Bible. I received such a rich blessing in my meditations last evening on this chapter, and I thought I would like to pass on to you friends a few thoughts that may be helpful in your study and an encouragement in your life.
You remember, Isaiah is called the Evangelical Prophet, because there are so many truths in his writings about JESUS, the Son of God, the Messiah. He is so evangelistic, so spiritual, so like the NEW Testament, more like the New Testament, perhaps, than any other portion of the Old Testament, and therefore a great blessing to the child of God. I thank God for the study of it and hope it may be a rich blessing to you and stimulate you to dig into some of the rich treasures of the Word for yourself.
I want to speak to you on THE FAITHFULNESS OF GOD TO HIS WORD. The longer I live the more I realize that the Word of God is the Connecting Link with the Living God that makes all the things of the spiritual life real and vital! I am always trying to tell people to STUDY THE BIBLE, to READ THE BIBLE, to LOVE THE BIBLE, to MEDITATE ON THE BIBLE, to LIVE THE BIBLE. But somehow or other it seems there is an awful, awful power that keeps people from the reading and studying of the Word of God. We need to realize what God's Word MEANS TO US today.
Now, my text (that I want to call your particular attention to, lifting it out of the chapter simply to consider it and to focus our attention on it, because we are going to study it in the context) is verses 10 and 11. It has to do with the WORD of GOD and God's FAITHFULNESS to His Word. Now, listen: "For as the rain cometh down and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither but watereth the earth and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the Sower and bread to the eater, SO SHALL MY WORD BE that goeth forth out of My Mouth.
