Tonight we are taking up the Book of James beginning with verse 8. We will be studying the "Fulfilling of the Royal Law." God Almighty speaks about royal law and said if ye fulfilled the royal law that ye do well. A very blessed thing. So let's remember that and let's look forward to the victory in the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you have your Bibles turn with me to this book of James verse 7. I touched on it Wednesday night. My heart was so tremendously moved by this fact that I felt that we should go into it. I pray that the Lord will make it a blessing to our hearts. James says, "Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?" (Do they not blaspheme that worthy name by which ye are called.)

I want to translate that translation please, this is literal and absolutely accurate just to help us. That beautiful name which in called upon you, literally. That beautiful name which is called upon you. Now that is a little awkward in English. It actually comes from a Hebrew expression used several times in the Old Testament as I will show you in just a little bit. But that beautiful name which is called upon you literally means that beautiful name which you bear. Do not they blaspheme that beautiful name which you bear, which you carry around with you everywhere you go. That is the thought that James is talking about here in this passage of scripture.

I want to talk to you a little bit about that beautiful name which we Christians bear. Which we carry around with us everywhere that we go. Now notice I translate the name with the word, "worthy" by beautiful. That is the main meaning of the word in Greek. Whenever the Greeks talked about something beautiful they tacked on the adjective in front of whatever they were talking about. That beautiful name which you bear, which is called upon you and which you bear.
