We have been in a series that I trust has been helpful. It is called "Help for Today and Hope for Tomorrow." And as we looked at several issues that we face in our life today, we have been encouraged by the Holy Spirit because God has so much to say to us about His help for today and the hope that we have for tomorrow in Jesus. And today we are going to look at "Secrets of Stress-free Living."

You know when you are walking in stress you are walking in darkness. Jesus wants to give us the light of life. Now all you have to do is listen to commercials to know that America is a stress-ridden and a stress-driven society. You know plop, plop, fizz, fizz – oh what a relief it is! How do you spell relief? Excedrin headache number 69 and all the rest of them, as a matter of fact, Americans are stressed out to the tune of about 500 million dollars a year that they spend on tranquilizers so that we can drop down into a lower emotional gear and deal with the stress that we have in our life everyday. You cannot eliminate stress because stress is a part of life, but you can neutralize stress. And what I want to do is look at the life of Jesus and I want us to see how Jesus dealt with stress. Because, if ever there was someone who ought to have stress, it was Jesus. You just think about the Lord and the people pressing in on Him. The people trying to see Him. People saying Jesus come over here and others saying come over here. Jesus do this and Jesus do that, heal my child. No Lord come over here and heal my mother. Lord, I have a need. And He was constantly being pulled in ninety different directions at one time. And at the same time the religious leaders of His day were criticizing Him. And they were putting Him down. They were saying all kinds of evil things that were not even true about Jesus. Jesus knew what it was to work long hours, to deal wit ...
