I want us to look at Revelation 13 that describes the anti Christ as he comes forth and reveals himself during the great tribulation time. Paul teaches us in II Thessalonians 2 that the anti Christ will not reveal himself until the tribulation begins. Then he says that wicked one shall be revealed. When the one who is restraining, that is the Holy Spirit, is taken out of the way, then that wicked one shall be revealed, the one who is called the lawless one, or the son of perdition. Now John sees him in his vision in Revelation 13 as a beast.
I. WILL AMERICA BE A PART OF THE REVIVED ROMAN EMPIRE DURING THE SEVEN-YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD?
What is the revived Roman Empire? It is the confederation of nations which is the power base of the anti Christ during the seven year tribulation time. It is the form of government that will exist after the church is removed from the earth. And it will be a confederation of certain nations. Will America still exist and be a part of the anti Christ kingdom? Some say no and some say yes. Let's understand what this kingdom is.
Revelation 13:1-4 "Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. So they worshipped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?"
