Francis Scheffer said: "Someday we will wake up and find that the America we once knew was gone. That day is here. We have crossed an invisible line and there are no signs that we are capable of turning back. Being swept along a powerful cultural current that just might put us over the brink. Like a boat caught in a current of the Niagara Falls. There are two unmistakable signs that we are off course, (1) When the Supreme Court ruled in 1963 that it was unconstitutional to pray in public schools. (2) In 1973 when the unfamiliar Rove V. Wade decision legalize abortion for any reason.

Daily, perhaps hourly, we are losing the war of America's heart and mind.

Five battles, the secularist seem to be winning. (1) Religious Freedom. (2) Our Schools, (3) Abortion, (4) the Media (5) Homosexual rights.

When Roger Baldwin began the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in 1925, he stated openly his belief that the first amendment could be used to impose a liberal social agenda on the United States.

Through the judicial process, religious influence and education, government, and society could be severely restricted. He believed the courts could be used circumvent the democracy. He was right.

e.g. The ruling of a federal bills court in Zion, Illinois. The city seal, including a cross and the words, "God Reigns" would have to be removed because it violates the separation of the church and state. In June, 1992, the Supreme Court refused to hear the case. So the city is bound by law to remove the symbol from its municipal buildings, police cars, etc. Unfortunately 95% of the population favor the present emblem. The atheist who filed the complaint is now going uninvited from community to community looking for other religious symbols that he insist must be removed - all in the name of the first amendment.
