Looking Back to the Future
Ike Reighard
Acts 1:1-11

Introduction:

This past week the space shuttle Endeavor sat on the launch pad at the Kennedy Space Center. The countdown began for launching the massive spaceship. The engines began to quiver and shake; fire began to spread out. The launch and liftoff were less than two seconds away when suddenly there was a main engine shutdown due to a sequencing malfunction. Thousands (over 300,000) of gallons of water were poured on to prevent a potentially fatal explosion.

In my opinion, we, as the church, are only scant seconds from the imminent return of Jesus Christ. The difference between NASA and God is that the final countdown for God will find no last-second glitches to prohibit the lift-off of the Bride of Christ, The Church. To understand just how close we are, we need to look back into Scripture to see what the future truly holds.

**All Biblical prophecy revolves around four great events:
The rebirth of Israel.
Realignment of nations.
Rapture of the church.
Return of Christ to earth.
