I BELIEVE IN PRAYER

I Believe in Prayer
Ike Reighard

Introduction:
One of the most difficult spiritual disciplines to master is that of distinguishing the voice of God. How do you determine the voice of our own conscience, the voice of other imitators, and GOD'S own voice?

The answer to this question lies in our ability to truly pray.
When we are listening to "other voices," CONFUSION sets in, FRUSTRATION soon follows and NEUTRALIZATION becomes the result.
PRAYER then becomes THE key to knowing the voice of God and thus realizing the Will of God.

If I had to define prayer into a thought or concept, it would be this: PRAYER IS COMMITTING MY WILL TO GOD'S WILL. PRAYER IS NOT OUR CONTROLLING GOD, IT IS GOD CONTROLLING US.

**Divorce
"God bless this mess I never consulted you on."
**Financial Upheaval
"Lord, I am in debt up to my ears."
**Vocational instability
"Dear God, I hate this job. I just hate it."**Emotional stress
"I just don't think I can handle the pressure any more."
"Father, I just want to be happy."
