Introduction

1. The apostle john, who penned this book of the revelation, warned earlier in his first epistle of the coming antichrist. ''Little children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming...'' (I john 2:18a) now the warning becomes reality. Now we are introduced to the devil's messiah, Satan's superman, the counterfeit Christ from hell, the devil incarnate.

2. I believe that the currents of history are silently, but swiftly, carrying this world to one- world government and one-world ruler. Politics are greasing the skids and technology is opening the door for a final world-wide dictatorship that will take place just prior to the second coming of the lord Jesus Christ.

3. Revelation 1l:15 tells us that the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdoms of our lord and of his Christ and he shall reign forever and ever. But before that takes place Satan is going to make a last ditch effort to make the kingdoms of this world the kingdoms of his world. There is going to be a satanic struggle- for-world domination that will culminate in two persons coming on the world scene: the false prince and the false prophet. These hellish henchmen will be the devil's puppets to do his bidding as he seeks to dominate the world! We are going to study in this message the false prince, the beast out of the sea. The apostle john gives us four characteristics of this satanic superman.

I. He depicts Satan

1. This beast, whoever or whatever he is, ''rises out of the sea.'' (v.1) now the sea is symbolic in the book of revelation for the world of humanity, ''and he said to me, 'the waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues.''' (rev. 17:15) rising out of the seething boiling mass of humanity, represented as the sea, is the coming antichrist.
