When Your Faith Goes on Trial
James Merritt
James 1:2-4

Introduction

1. I saw a bumper sticker not long ago that said, "if you were put on trial for being a christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you? That's a very good question,

2. I would ask a different question, if your faith was given a test this morning as to how strong it truly is, what grade would it make? Would you get an a+ for your faith? Or, would it be a c- or perhaps some of you would even have to cram to make an f. I heard about a young man who took an examination in college and made a 0. He went to see the professor. Deals with the problem of temptation in verses 13-15 but in verses 2-12 james is dealing with that problem of trials, problem of troubles, the problem of tribulation, you see a trial is to test your faith. While a temptation is to best your faith. A trial is for your. Maturity. While a temptation is for your misery. But james here is dealing with trials, troubles, tragedies, tribulation that come your way. When you are faith goes on trial, you must be able to win the case. And when those trials of life come, when those tests of life come and come they will you want your faith to fortify you not to fail you.

I. The reality of trouble--verse 2
