Haggai 2:6-9; 20-23

The Israelites had their hope in the coming of the Messiah to the Lord's temple, but for you and me today, the ultimate hope and fulfillment of the Biblical Promise of Messiah's coming is when the Lord, Jesus Christ returns in power at the end of the age to claim His Bride, the Church. AND... when Jesus comes again, He will completely and perfectly remodel the church in whose work we are working on and what He will do, will completely outdo even the biggest Hollywood movie star's mansion.

Folks, we MUST never lose sight of the fact that God continues to want you and me, who are His people, because of saving faith in Jesus Christ, to also return to the work and task that He has laid before us today in the rebuilding of His house so that His active, and His saving Presence is expressed to the WHOLE world... to the ends of the whole earth through the LIGHT shining brightly from His church. And we who are God's people, should never lose hope as we allow Him to work through us doing His work right here in our community, because Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ, is going to return very very soon. And when He does, He will literally do the Biggest shake up that has ever been seen, as He RENEWS His entire creation and establishes first His Thousand Year Millennial Rule here on earth, and then as the NEW Jerusalem is brought forth in His full glory.

Folks... IF God's people in Haggai's day thought that Solomon's temple was glorious, they hadn't seen anything yet. So, what I hope you take with you today is a RENEWED hope in the promise and fact that our current work on God's ''house'' is going to be made even MORE spectacular when our Lord, Jesus Christ comes again. But second, I would hope that you will be motivated to not become lazy, or stuck in a rut, but instead to stay at the work of being disciples, of making disciples, and of strengthening the Lord's church.
