THE CURSE OF THE LAW OF MOSES
Jesse M. Hendley
Galatians 3:13

In Galatians 3:13 the Apostle Paul writes, "Christ
hath redeemed us from the curse of the Law, being
made a curse for us. For it is written, Cursed is
every one that hangeth on a tree; that the blessing
of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus
Christ; that we might receive the promise of the
Spirit through faith."

The Law a Curse

Here Paul mentions the "curse." "For as many as are
under the works of the Law are under the curse. For
it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth
not in all things which are written in the Book of
the Law to do them."

What is a curse? The Greek word katara has a terrible

simple faith in Jesus Christ is under a curse, for
the Law is merciless unless people CONTINUE to do

they fail (and everyone has failed and does fail)
they are under the penalty of death, eternal death,
which they bring down upon their own heads because
they reject God's way, the way of grace and mercy in
Christ!

Are you trying to work your way to salvation? Or are
you just trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ to save
you? Are you under the Law or under Grace?

Christ

Listen: "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of
the Law, being made a curse for us. For it is
written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree."
Deuteronomy 21:23. Jesus hung on that tree, that
cross, and died the shameful, cruel death of
crucifixion in order to save us from the curse and
consequences of the Law that you and I have
definitely BROKEN in our lives. How we should love
