THE DELIVERANCE OF INTIMIDATED CHRISTIANS

Romans 10:15

A Christian brother called me in great distress. He
was having some physical difficulties and the doctor
had scheduled him for some tests regarding cancer. His
greatest distress was his Spiritual condition. He
said, "I have doubts about my salvation. I wonder if I
have committed the unpardonable sin." I told him the
only sin God will not forgive with His great pardon is
rejection of JESUS. He said, "I know I have trusted
and am trusting Jesus as my personal Saviour." I said,
"Then one who trusts Christ cannot commit this sin."
Then he said, "But I have sinned since I accepted
Jesus and in Hebrews 10:26 we read, "For if we sin
willfully after we have received the knowledge of the
truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins." I
said, "this willful sin in Hebrews refers to the
rejection of Christ. So again, since you are trusting
Jesus' blood which He shed in atonement for your sins,
this cannot apply to you, can it?" He said, "No!" I
said, "If every Christian becomes lost again when he
sins after he believes on Jesus, nobody on earth would
ever be saved because the Bible say, 'All have sinned
and (continually) fall short.' and John tells us in I
John 1:8, If we (Christians) say that we have no sin,
we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."
A Christian lady called me. She was in great distress
as she read John 15:1-6 in the Bible about Christians
bearing fruit. She said, "I have no fruit. Maybe I
have never been saved!"
My friends, both of these children of God were
allowing Scripture to intimidate them, to frighten
them, to make them afraid. But Jesus came to save us
from our sins and to banish fears. He is constantly
saying to His people, "FEAR NOT, literally STOP being
afraid or do not go on living a life of fear!"
