In First Corinthian 13 and First Thessalonians 4:9 are
the Scriptures we are bringing to you today. They are
of the most vital consequence to each one of us who
has any serious intention of being in heaven with the
Lord, with the God Who is LOVE.

What is love? How is it identified? A lot of people
don't see love when it comes. They don't know what it
is. Worlds of people do not know what love really is.
Everybody takes it for granted that they do. Songs
have been written about love. Books have been written
about love. So much of it is just foolishness, not
true.

But God's Word is TRUE, and in these great statements
we have what love really is. Do you know what it is?
Have you recognized love? Do you have any of it in
your heart? I am asking that of myself. I am not
judging you. I wouldn't dare. But I say to you that
there is not a more searching passage in God's Word
than First Corinthians 13---what love really is. I
hope you will open your mind to it. I hope you will
open your heart and let God speak to your heart about
this tremendous subject.

Paul writes to the Thessalonian Christians, "As
touching brotherly love, ye need not that I write unto
you, for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one
another." In my Bible I underlined these words so they
might stand out from the text: "Ye are taught of God
to love."

The greatest subject the human mind can think upon is
love. That is what God writes in First Corinthian 13.
It isn't simply Paul writing. It is the Holy Spirit of
God through Paul. This is not just a little, weak,
sentimentalism people have today, nor it is the
lustful love of the world. This is the REAL thing, and
it is so real that it is rare. It is rarely found. I
know that to be a fact from my study of the Bible. I
have studied this subject in and out, and it is the
most wonderful but ...
