CHRIST'S RESURRECTION AND OURS

Exodus 12:1-13

We find in chapter 12 of the Book of Exodus. "And the
Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt
saying, This month shall be unto you the beginning of
months. It shall be the first month of the year to
you."

This refers to the Passover, the shedding of the blood
of the innocent lamb in atonement for sin.

This is when a person really begins to live---when he
receives CHRIST as his own, personal Passover Lamb. In
First Corinthians 5:7 Paul says, "Christ, OUR
Passover, has been sacrificed FOR US." What the
Passover lamb was to the children of Israel, saving
them from the judgment of God that fell upon the
Egyptians, CHRIST'S BLOOD is to us, saving us from the
judgment that is going to fall upon the unbelieving
world.

When Life Begins

Until you and I accept Jesus as our Saviour, we don't
begin to live! I have been alive physically for
seventy years but alive spiritually for only fifty
years, because I was not saved until I was twenty
years of age. That morning when I accepted Christ on
my front porch and He came into my heart and saved my
soul was the BEGINNING OF SPIRITUAL LIFE to me. I
began to live!

So to Israel God said, "This is the beginning of
months. " They had been a nation for a long time down
in Egypt, but this was the beginning of life to them:
the shedding of the blood of the Passover lamb.

Take a Lamb

"Speak ye unto all the congregation of the children of
Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they
shall take to them every man a lamb." A what? A LAMB.

Do you remember what John said when he saw Jesus
coming? He said to his disciples, "Behold the lamb of
God that taketh away the sin of the world!"

Now they were Hebrews. They were Jews, and they knew
instantly what John was talking about. They knew about
those lambs. Every morning on the altars of Israel a
