FEARLESS IN A WORLD Of FEAR!

Hebrews 13:5

I want to speak to you today on FEARLESS IN A WORLD
OF FEAR. Our text is Hebrews 13:5, "Let your
conversation (manner of life, the way you live
daily) be without covetousness, and be content with
such things as ye have. For He hath said, I WILL
NEVER LEAVE THEE NOR FORSAKE THEE."

As you read the Bible you understand that the word
COVETOUSNESS is used again and again in a terrible
sense. The Lord likens it to IDOLATRY itself. Yet
around us today COVETOUSNESS is a prevailing sin.

The Lord says, "Be content with such things as ye
have." Why? "For He hath said, I will never leave
you nor forsake you." I won't ever leave you. I am
with you, always. There will never be a time when I
will not be with you.

So, that takes away all FEAR, to know that THE LORD
is with us every second of our lives, and WILL BE
right on into Eternity. He will NEVER LEAVE US. This
is wonderful thing!

You know, in human affairs you hear people talk
about that sort of thing, "never forsaking the
other," but the relationship breaks up. But NOT SO
with CHRIST. He means it, and He will keep His Word.
We are living in a world of FEAR. In Luke 21:26 we
read that fear will INCREASE and just before Jesus
comes men's hearts will be FAILING them for fear and
for looking after the things that are coming on the
earth, "when the powers of the heavens shall be
shaken." We are living in a period something like
that without doubt. It is beginning to be fulfilled
in our lives. Fear is on every side. It grips the
hearts. It pressures the hearts of multitudes of
people. The Bible says there will be terrible FEAR
in the end-time, fear that will be so terrible it
will actually kill people.

Two Meanings of the Word FEAR

Now, what do we mean by FEAR? There are two ideas
about fear. Let's go first to the Bible meaning,
which is AWE, REVERENCE, RESPECT. "The FEAR of the
Lor ...
