GOD FORBIDS MIXED THINGS
Jesse M. Hendley
Leviticus 19:19
Friends, I hope you will listen to me carefully as I
bring this message to you on the subject of MIXED
THINGS. God forbids mixed things. God hates mixed
things.
Some people's idea about God is that He is so good and
so mushy that He doesn't hate anything, but if you
read the Bible carefully you will find that God does
hate things.
You will find the word abomination. Certain things and
certain people are an abomination to the Lord. They
make Him sick at His stomach. Jesus said concerning
certain people, "I will spew you out of My mouth."
That is, "You make me sick at My stomach."
You will find the word cursed. "There shall be no more
curse." That means "total destruction from the
presence of the Lord." There ARE things that God
HATES. One thing God hates and forbids is MIXED
THINGS.
Mixed Seed, Garments, Plowing
God says in Leviticus 19:19, "Thou shalt not sow thy
field with mingled seed."
God says in the same verse, "Neither shall a garment
mingled of linen and woolen come upon thee." They were
not to wear a garment mingled with linen and wool.
God says in Deuteronomy 22:10, "Thou shalt not plow
with an ox and an ass together."
You say, "What does this mean?" Well, God is teaching
us a tremendous spiritual truth!
Mixed Seed
First, God forbids MIXED DOCTRINE. God forbids you
taking His Word and mixing it up with anything! He
wants His Word preached straight, just as it is.
Mixing it with false doctrine is absolutely
prohibited. In fact, God feels this so strongly that
He says, "Whosoever adds anything to my Word, or takes
away anything from My Word, shall have his part in the
Lake of Fire, and his name shall be taken out of the
Book of Life."
"Thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed." The
field is the world, a world of people. You and I have
an influence! I cannot reach everyone in this world,
but I am ...
