Revelation 11:15-18

Turn with me, friends, to the Book of the Revelation,
chapter 11, verses 15 through 18.

The Seventh Trumpet

Background

This is the sounding of the great seventh trumpet! The
time is the middle of the Tribulation Period. The
Church has been caught up to meet the Lord in the air.

(We don't hear of the Church anymore after chapter 3.
Chapter 4, the throne. Chapter 5, Christ in the midst
of the throne, the Lamb of God in heaven. Chapter 6,
Jesus takes out of the Father's hand the seven-sealed
book of doom, the book of the end containing the
judgments and cleansing of this world. Every time He
tears a seal, a judgment strikes this earth. Out of
the seal judgments come the trumpet judgments. We
dealt with six of them through chapter 9. Chapter 10
to this 11:15 is preparation for the sounding of the
seventh trumpet.)

Here in verse 15 the angel sounds the tremendous
seventh trumpet. Chapter 10 tells us about this mighty
angel that comes down from heaven with this "little"
book in his hand that has to do with this final
judgment.

Verse 15, "And the seventh angel sounded; and there
were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of
this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord and of
His Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever."

Great Voices in Heaven

Notice here, "Great voices in heaven." They are
rejoicing that the world is now subject to God and to
His Christ, that the kingdom of God and His Christ has
come! Great voices in heaven! Heaven is all agog! All
over heaven they are talking because God and Christ
have taken over the kingdoms of earth, the sovereignty
and rule of this earth.

The Kingdom of the World

The great voices are saying, "The kingdoms of this
world." Now let's make that plural singular. The best
reading is "THE kingdom.” That means the whole world.
