WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED
Scripture: ROMANS 10:13
Whosoever Shall Call Upon The Name Of The Lord Shall Be Saved
Jesse M. Hendley
Romans 10:13
Here is a letter from a woman into whose home sorrow
has come. She is a Christian. She writes:
"I have not been able to hear your messages and have
greatly missed them. I have passed through great sor-
row. My youngest son passed from this earthly life
into eternity beyond, with a heart attack. He never
openly confessed Christ in life, but in death he
called on the Lord. I think of the thief on the Cross,
and of our loving Savior, and this is my only
consolation. Always, your friend in Christ Jesus."
Beloved, it is wonderful to know that Jesus brings
peace to our hearts and quells our doubts and storms
and fears. He says, "Peace, be still," to our hearts
because we have the promise of God in Romans 10:13
that "Whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord
shall be saved " And that means anybody, at any time,
who really calls, shall be saved. WONDERFUL GOSPEL!
If you have your Bible, turn with me to Romans 10:13.
I want to bring you a message along that line, because
this is such a wonderful truth.
This lady said that her youngest son passed from this
life into eternity beyond with a heart attack. He had
never openly confessed Christ in living, but in death
he called on the Lord. What is her comfort? She says,
"The loving Savior and the story of the thief on the
Cross." They are a comfort to her. But, you know, we
have even more Truth in God's Word. For in Romans
10:13 we read these wonderful words, "For whosoever
shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved
" "WHOSOEVER-SHALL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD
SHALL BE SAVED. " The SCRIPTURES say that. The
SCRIPTURES, GOD'S OWN WORDS. This young man was
included in God's "whosoever," "Whosoever" means
anybody who calls. Whosoever calls on the Lord shall
be SAVED. That included him.
There are some things that we don't know anything
about, that ...
