Friends, if you have your Bibles now, I want you to
turn with me to one of the great chapters of the
Bible, Acts, chapter 26 and verse 18, and today we are
studying the wonderful purpose of God and Christ in
saving the lost. It is a wonderful, wonderful study in
the Word of God.

We found out that as the Lord sent the Apostle Paul He
sends us also, and that our business is to turn people
from the darkness to the light, and from the power of
Satan unto God. We are to do that through our testify-
ing, through our witnessing. Now notice, "I send thee
to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to
light, from the power of Satan unto God, THAT-"

WHY does God save people? WHY does God send the
Gospel? What is the OBJECT of sending the Apostle
Paul, and Christians, and preachers, and missionaries,
and any Christian WITH A WITNESS to the world that is
lost? "THAT THEY MAY RECEIVE FORGIVENESS OF SINS AND
INHERITANCE among which are sanctified by faith that
is in Me." Here we have the PURPOSE of God and Christ
IN OUR WITNESS. That purpose is to SAVE THE LOST. And
here is a detailed account from Christ's own lips as
to what salvation really is. If you want to know what
salvation is, carefully, here it is, what SALVATION
IS, and what it DOES for a person. You can check
up, my friends, and see whether you HAVE this
salvation or not.

Now notice. Jesus said, "Paul, I am sending you to the
unsaved, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and
inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith
in Me." Here is a detailed account from Christ's own
lips as to what salvation is, and what He wants to do,
and does, for every soul that He saves. He wants to do
this for all who will listen to the testimony of His
