HOW TO SAY "NO" TO SIN

Friends, I want to speak to you about a matter that is very
important to all of us as Christians, and that is the
matter of VICTORY OVER SIN.

I have a letter where a friend writes, "If you can, please
help me. I desire your prayers. I am a Christian. I have
had many prayers answered and have felt the filling of the
Spirit of Christ. But there are things that I have let
happen in my life that are un-Christian, and I cannot
understand my weakness. It makes me doubt my Christianity
at times. Why do I find myself in these situations? I feel
condemned over this sin. Yet I did it. It is not the first
time I have done wrong. I am not constant in doing these
things, but I do find myself doing them at times. Why? I
have served in the church, but I feel unworthy. Please
answer my letter as soon as possible. Pray for my
companion, under conviction, not a Christian, who does not
know of this. I do not want to be a stumbling block to my
loved one. Help me to understand myself."

Common Problem

Friends, this is a problem facing many, many Christians.
But God gives us the answer to it in His Word. This person
recognizes this thing as a sin and refers to it as "my
weakness." "I do things that are wrong. There has been
dishonesty in my life and I don't know why I do these
things."

The Bible Explains It

Well, the reason a Christian does these things is that
within is a dual personality. If you are a Christian, you
have a new life in Christ, but you still have an old
nature. Our old nature, friends, will be with us until we
see Jesus face to face! That is why I have said so often
that a child of God is capable of doing anything any
unsaved person has ever done if he lets the old nature get
the upper hand by neglect of prayer and Bible reading and
daily commitment to Christ. When a Christian becomes
careless in his Christian life, the first thing he knows ...
