THE POWER OF THE BLOOD OF CHRIST
Jesse M. Hendley
Hebrews 9:7
In Hebrews 9:7 we read these words: "Not without
blood."
That is an important statement, friends. I wonder if
you have studied the meaning of the Blood in the Word
of God. We read in Hebrews 9:7, "But into the second
went the high priest alone, once every year, not
without blood, which he offered for himself and for
the errors of the people." The priest went in WITH
BLOOD, and he offered that blood for himself and for
the errors of the people.
The Bible speaks much about the BLOOD. We find BLOOD
all the way from the Garden of Eden to the Holy City
in the Revelation. What is the meaning of the Blood of
Christ? To show you something of the value of it, here
is what God thinks about the Blood:
God says that OUR REDEMPTION is by the Blood of
Christ.
We read that our RECONCILIATION TO GOD is through the
Blood of Christ.
We read that the only CLEANSING, that fits us for
God's Presence, is through the Blood of Christ.
We read that SANCTIFICATION is through the Blood of
Christ.
We read that we are cleansed by the Blood TO SERVE the
Living God.
We read that we have RIGHT OF ENTRANCE to the Holy of
Holies through the Blood.
We read that we have LIFE FROM GOD through the blood
of the Lord Jesus.
We read that we have VICTORY OVER THE DEVIL and all
his wiles through the Blood.
We read that there is JOY UNSPEAKABLE AND FULL OF
GLORY through the Blood of the Lord Jesus.
So, friends, there could be nothing more important to
you and to me than the Blood of Christ. Our only HOPE
is through the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
On the night of the Passover (Exodus 12), the Lord
said, "When I see the blood, I will pass over you."
People were taught then and there that eternal life
could be had only through the death of a substitute,
dying in our place. That is the only way, and our
assurance is in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus ...
